I replaced the Prefs/WiFi and Prefs/NetModules settings on my computer with those from the latest Nightly build, and the WiFi connection issues stopped. As you can see in the image, the Wi-Fi - Start from Boot checkbox is working. A few seconds after restarting, I have a network connection.

Thanks, Bo!

When I have some time, I'll update the distribution.

my personal slogan for AROS today: "the sky is the limit"

@Bohun

every longtime amiga users knows this but for users outside who do not know amiga it looks like a error when you click on icons and nothing happens

These are the icons that are in the original nightly build. They don't have any programs assigned to them. I haven't removed them, but it looks like I should.

@Bohun

Thanks! 🙏🏻

There is also this note on the german forum:
„Under Prefs, there are the following programs that don't work (error message "Object not found":
- ConfigOpus
- Boot
- EditPrefs

I am not familiar with the details of AROS; these might be program settings that aren't actually needed or can only be launched via the CLI.“

@aha
I see on the German-language forum amiga-news.de that the Wi-Fi problem persists. I've filed an issue on the aros-team github.

And that's a platform which actually makes sense, not just for the sake of it. I think AROS fits right in.

@nikos @Olaf

I have the slogan of the day: piAROS connects people!

Hi Olaf Long time my friend.

Hello Nikos

AROS for Rapberry Pi is the way to go. I always liked dedicated hardware.
I will try this on my Pi4. The distro is looking great! Good job!

looks really good

I love the icons and background images. I'm going to download the archive and try to run it on my Pi400.

Awesome work! Thank you.

update to version 0.4.1: added missing programs, fixed terminal in BoingIconBar, wifi works better but not perfectly, added folder icons in Extras/Games

You're right. I overwrote Extras with a newer version, and on Mac it deletes the unique content. I'm fixing it now, but I'm more concerned about the Wi-Fi issue. I can't figure out why it doesn't work after compressing and unpacking the archive. Update 0.4.1 coming soon.

I mean inside the piAROS.zip there is no opentyrian, Aveterna, commander_keen_4, grafx2, milkytracker, edgesnap and pintp programs

It looks like Faenza for AROS. It goes well with the Pi AROS look & feel. :-)

The background image is also very well done!

@8cOv2G3N
I tried to include all the software I knew about.

@aha
Thanks. I'll make the appropriate changes in version 0.4.1 to the extent I can. Regarding Wi-Fi, I noticed that sometimes there were problems initiating the connection, but clicking Disconnect and then Connect again would connect. I'll test with newer Wi-Fi versions and maybe find some earlier versions on my hard drive. At the very least, I'd downgrade the Wi-Fi.

@Bohun

Here are the results of a test on a Pi400 (translated from the German forum on amiga-news.de):

“Gave it a quick test.

Good news: the software failure during boot is gone, and the Wanderer appears without further error messages—including the menu at the bottom.

Bad news: all other errors persist or have unfortunately gotten worse.

1. Screen dragging: Previously, the screen would go black for just a second but still work; now it doesn't work at all. It goes black immediately, and the dragged screen turns gray. If you drag and click around a bit, the Wanderer partially redraws itself... but without backgrounds, windows are empty, etc.

2. Wi-Fi connects to hotspots (WPA2), but no IP is generated. Regardless of the router (Fritzbox, Android, iPhone hotspot), it always says "connected... waiting for an address" at the bottom. Do I need to configure something manually now? That wasn't the case before (it works automatically under AOS4.1).

3. Moria3D no longer complains about the stack but doesn't open a screen either. It throws an error: "Screen 320xsomething cannot be opened."

4. The Extras directory icon is present, but inside the Games folder, everything except *TrevorsSuperland* remains hidden or lacks an icon.“

5. The Shell entry in the BoingIconBar (i.e., bottom center) isn't working. However, it does work via the "old-school" method using the Wanderer menu at the top left.

Thanks! Does it include all available 3rd party software for AROS aarch64? Or I need to download it separately?
