Yeah, i'm pretty intrigued by the AROS project right now. Will be investigating MIDI soon. maybe that is something I can dig into. With the current state of coding agents, it's possible to build and verify things that seemed insurmountable before. Maybe 64-bit MIDI can be one of those :-)

We would need a functional MIDI driver like what happens with 32-bit AROS, and as for the porting, I wouldn't know—Mr. Alfred Faust used AROS One for the compilation, but I don't know which sources he worked on.

Hi,

We can ask as the Pi might be different enough to x64 (cheaper) ?

Once midi detected through usb though

I don't know if Mr. Alfred Faust will port the famous MIDI program BarsnPipes to x64

A long time ago I had talked with a user who had presented himself at a music fair with Protrekkr, the others were using proprietary software like Ableton, etc... etc... everything went well

You are welcome!

Welcome to AROS World

Hi,

Welcome aboard, midi came to Aros later than other Amiga like when a few years ago the missing gap between usb and midi was completed.
A request for BarsNPipes on Aros 32bit was compiled at the time and probably could be requested for the Pi when usb detection of midi devices works on the Pi.

With regards to usb audio that became possible a year ago when usb3 and rt isochronous was introduced.

We have several trackers types that could be recompiled. There is also the possibility of emulation of 68k so older Amiga apps might work.

What type of applications were you looking at?

Hello and welcome to AROSWorld

Welcome tom1000 I'm from Redlands, CA about 1.5 hours from the coast.

Welcome to AROS!

Came here after reading a post and seeing a video about AROS on RPi3 last week.
Totally new to AROS and just spent the weekend playing with it.

I'm an old-time Amiga 1000 owner who enjoyed playing with MIDI and Music.
Am curious about the current state of Amiga, and also AROS. I always loved
how light and performant the OS was.

Especially interested in Audio on AROS and the current state of music.
